Coverage of the recent federal court decision to allow the lawsuit challenging Harvard University’s policy of sanctioning members of single-gender organizations to proceed has continued in a variety of national outlets. New reporting appeared in The Washington Post, Campus Reform, Inside Higher Ed, The College Fix, and Forbes. The National Panhellenic Conference, the North American Interfraternity Conference and the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations released a joint statement on Aug. 15 in response to the judge’s ruling.
The Harvard Crimson offered the latest iteration of coverage regarding the recent district court ruling that will allow the lawsuit against Harvard University’s policy sanctioning members of single-sex organizations to proceed.
After an internal review, the University of Buffalo (UB) lifted its fraternity/sorority life suspension, which came in the wake of a suspected hazing death of a Sigma Pi pledge. New anti-hazing and oversight regulations on fraternities and sororities are now in effect. Greek-letter organizations will remain on probation for the fall semester and Sigma Pi will remain suspended pending police investigation.
