Summer Service Trip Recap

Thank you so much to Vicki Stankus, assistant director of education & leadership, and volunteer Ashleigh Rentería, Beta Gamma/Colorado State, for facilitating the Summer Service Trip to New Orleans, July 16 – 22. Ten collegians from across North America participated. While there, the group served CASA New Orleans, the Arc of Greater New Orleans Bead Center, Riverdale School-Based Health Clinic, Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, and St. Margaret’s Daughters at Mercy Hospital. Throughout the week, Vicki and Ashleigh led students through curriculum focused on the intersection of social issues and philanthropy; social perspective taking; and how they could return home and make a greater impact on their campuses, in their communities, and in the world. The Summer Service Trip is funded through a grant from Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
