At their January meeting, Grand Council endorsed the proposed language for a non-discrimination statement which reads, “Kappa Alpha Theta does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital/family status, sexual orientation, gender presentation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include but are not limited to recruitment and discipline of members, selection of volunteers, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members.” This statement will live on the Theta website and will be added to all officer handbooks.
At the same meeting, Grand Council withdrew the Cheyenne and Gainesville alumnae chapter charters. Both chapters have been without members and officers for a couple of years and attempts at revitalization have been unsuccessful. This change is effective immediately and brings the total number of active alumnae chapters to 152.
We are hiring an assistant director of collegiate services and an FHC property manager. Kappa Alpha Theta offers a flexible, collaborative work environment in which all individuals can utilize their inherent talents to support a common goal: Provide quality service and support to each other, our members, our Fraternity, and our community. Please share this job posting with any qualified candidates you may know!
The deadline to submit Theta Foundation's 2024 Scholarship Application is now less than one month away! Please help us ensure all Thetas are aware of the opportunity to receive financial support for their academic endeavors. Members must intend to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree program during the upcoming (2024-2025) academic year to apply.
For assistance with the application, please encourage members to attend our upcoming virtual help sessions! You can find more information in this blog post. Contact Foundation Programs Director Mary Kate Smith with questions.
Congratulations to the following two chapters that have 300 or more members in ThetaConnect!
