Congratulations to the newly elected Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC) board for the 2018-2020 biennium! Mary Jane Beach will continue her service as FHC president and will be joined by vice presidents Kellie Dickerson and Leah Hartman. In her role as Theta’s CEO, Betsy Corridan will serve as FHC secretary, and Grand Council will also appoint one of its members to serve on the board.
Grand Council of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity and the board of trustees of Theta Foundation will be elected at Grand Convention 2018. More information about the FHC board and the Council and trustee slates will be available tomorrow on the Theta website.
Assistant Director of Education & Leadership Ellen Barlow FitzGerald’s last day working for Theta will be Tuesday, June 12. Ellen has accepted the position of manager of employer engagement at Ascend Indiana, a cross-industry workforce development initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. We are grateful for Ellen’s many contributions to Theta’s educational and leadership development programs. Vicki Stankus, assistant director of education & leadership, and Melissa Shaub, director of education & leadership, will be working to transition. Please see below for a new point person on several programs. Thank you for noting these changes and for joining us in congratulating Ellen on this exciting new opportunity.
Kappa Alpha Theta has the opportunity to provide volunteers to serve the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC)as NPC Area Advisors. In this role, volunteers are assigned four to six campuses and work closely with the college Panhellenic leadership, the campus-based fraternity/sorority advisor, and NPC partners to advise on NPC policies and best practices.If you are interested in this role, please submit the Volunteer Interest Indicator and reference the role within your responses. If you know of someone who may be a good fit, please encourage her to complete the interest indicator. Questions about the role and responsibilities can be sent to Michelle Geiger, 1st alternate NPC delegate. The deadline for interest indicator submissions is Friday, June 15.
The Fraternity’s 2017-18 fiscal year ends June 30. Because some of your expenses may be for the 2018-19 fiscal year, please note on your submitted expenses if they are for the 2017-18 or 2018-19 fiscal year.
2017-18 expenses will be accepted until, but no later than, July 31. No exceptions to this deadline will be granted, as the Fraternity’s audit begins in August. Please submit your invoices in a timely manner. Also remember that, in accordance with the Fraternity’s travel policy, only expenses submitted within 90 days of expenditure will be reimbursed.
