Coronavirus & Theta

As you are undoubtedly aware, businesses and universities have begun taking steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). On campuses that are homes to Theta college chapters, these steps vary and continue to evolve, and Theta’s staff is working to help our collegians align with university mandates and remain healthy. We will keep you apprised of major developments.

If you are a frequent traveler, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides recommendations on postponing or canceling travel. These are called travel notices and are based on assessment of the potential health risks involved with traveling to a certain area. The CDC offers a list of destinations with travel notices. Other disease-control experts recommend an abundance of caution and advise against non-essential international travel.

Workforce Updates

• Please join Recruitment Committee Chairman Kara Van Duzee in welcoming Hilary Holmes Rheaume, Gamma deuteron/Ohio Wesleyan, as a recruitment and Panhellenic district director (RPDD) in College District VI. Hilary joins Alyssa Franco in the district and will work with chapters previously under Maddie Joerger. 
• Kara Van Duzee and the recruitment committee also welcome Courtney Lynch, Gamma Upsilon/Miami, to the committee as a strategic recruitment specialist.
• Allison Sebesta, budget district director (BDD) in College District XII, is resigning. If you are interested in this role, please submit the Volunteer Interest Indicator. Questions about the role and responsibilities can be forwarded to Collegiate Finance Manager Christine Lorkowski.
