Gamma Kappa/George Washington
The Gamma Kappa Chapter at The George Washington University was originally installed in 1946 and was on campus through 1975. Last weekend, Kappa Alpha Theta reinstalled the chapter, welcoming Gamma Kappa home. Thank you to the installation team members who volunteered their time to make this weekend so special for our 91 newest Thetas!
Workforce Update
Heather MacCuspie, alumnae district director (ADD) in Alumnae District VII, has resigned. Alumnae Committee Chairman Laura Richardson is acting ADD VII until a new officer can be appointed. If you are interested in this position, please fill out a volunteer interest indicator.
Social Media Snapshot
Advisor Appreciation Month: April is NPC’s Advisor Appreciation Month! We will provide resources—including templates for social media shout-outs—to help college chapters show their advisors how much their work is valued. We will also feature Snapchat takeovers from several college chapters that excel in advisor appreciation!
Sexual Assault Awareness Month: April is also Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Theta will support this important initiative with educational resources on social media. Mark your calendar for Denim Day on April 26, when people all over the world will wear denim to send the message that there is never an excuse for rape and sexual assault.
Magazine Survey
Last week, all Theta alumnae received a survey about the Theta magazine. If you haven’t already completed it (total time: less than five minutes!), we hope you’ll do so this week. We value your input, which will help guide future content and design updates.
Job Opening
The Fraternity is accepting applications for a Fraternity Housing Corporation property manager. The job description and instructions for applying can be found on the Theta website. If you know of any qualified individuals, please encourage them to apply!
Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) Application Now Open
Theta’s Emerging Leaders Institute provides leadership education and development to undergraduate members. Using the relational leadership model, curriculum focuses on increasing skills development and understanding leadership as a relational process.
Two sessions are scheduled for 2017 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.
Any college member of Theta who considers herself an emerging leader is encouraged to apply. Emerging leadership is not defined by age, but rather by experience with leadership education and development. Applications for the 2017 Emerging Leader Institute are being accepted now through April 21 on the Theta website. If you know of any outstanding up-and-coming leaders, please encourage them to apply!
