Harvard has released a new proposal for implementing the university’s social group sanctions, according to new reporting from The Harvard Crimson. The proposal includes a three-tiered system that offers specific privileges to groups pending varying levels of compliance with university policies. Governing boards led by graduates (such as the national organizations of NPC members) face particular scrutiny in the policy. The Harvard Crimson previously reported that gender breakdowns of members may be required to avoid sanctions, as well as comments by Dean Khurana criticizing the government relations efforts of social group supporters.
A new directive from the Department of Education about how colleges respond to campus sexual misconduct may finally arrive in September, according to reporting from Inside Higher Ed. Last year, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos rescinded Obama administration guidance governing colleges’ handling of campus sexual misconduct and promised a replacement directive. Once announced, a three- to four-month comment period will be required before the proposed rule can be officially issued.
Following the latest pre-trial court proceedings, eleven Penn State fraternity members will head to trial over the death of Timothy Piazza, reports CNN. All previous charges of reckless endangerment were dismissed, but several charges of hazing and "unlawful acts relative to liquor, malt, and brewed beverages and licenses," were upheld.
We’re excited to announce the updated Theta website, reflecting the updated logo and brand design, will launch tomorrow morning! We hope you enjoy the new look.
As our most valued brand ambassadors, we ask that you purge any items with old logos and branding. This is an important step to ensure we’re all presenting the Theta brand in a consistent manner.
We have also created a brand book that not only gives you a general overview of the visual design and messaging but provides a tool for creating your own elevator pitch using approved Theta specific messaging. It is available in Igloo under Files > Resources > 2018 Brand Resources. The 2018 Brand Resources folder also includes subfolders with the new brand fonts, informal kite graphics, and digital information deck PowerPoint resources. If your volunteer role requires a Theta branded email signature, you’ll be notified through Igloo no later than Wednesday, May 16 on how to use the updated template.
Thanks so much for your help in spreading the good news! Please direct any social media questions to Digital Media Manager Lauren Palmer.
