Sisters Supporting Sisters – Responding to Chapters
This has been a traumatic start to the academic year for many of our members and chapters. Melissa Shaub, director of education & leadership, has been fielding emails and calls about campus deaths, suicide attempts, as well as inter/national events including hurricanes, earthquakes, hate crimes, and gun violence. This is all in addition to the stress of both academic and personal life. It’s a lot for all of us. We do respond to chapters when they are faced with such an incident. Here is an overview of our general response, knowing that we do individualize based on each particular chapter’s needs.
If you have questions or feedback about the process, please send inquiries to Melissa Shaub. Theta’s Sisters Supporting Sisters resources, including the Talk One-2-One hotline and screening site, are made possible via a grant from Theta Foundation. Thank you to all of our donors to Theta Foundation’s annual fund who make this program possible.
