Giving Tuesday 2022

Giving Tuesday is just around the corner! Back by popular demand, a limited number of donors who make a gift of $150 or more will receive a special edition Giving Tuesday pansy pin. This year's pin has a purple gem that will complement your badge, Pansy Patch pins, and other Theta jewelry. In honor of Theta’s founding in 1870, there will be a special 1870 sticker available to Giving Tuesday donors who also donate $18.70 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST. Make sure to follow along on social media to hear more about this exciting opportunity! We can’t wait to celebrate with you on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Your support for the Theta Forever Fund on Giving Tuesday helps foster lifetimes of connection for Thetas with shared values. As always, we appreciate your social media support. Theta is one of many organizations asking for charitable donations on Nov. 29, and it will be important to our success for you to help us share the message of giving to Theta on Giving Tuesday.

• Download our social media graphic and share on your profile. You can post the image with the following caption on Facebook/LinkedIn: “Join me and give to the Theta Forever Fund! By investing in the next generation of leaders, you are ensuring the Theta experience will continue to empower members for years to come. Visit GivetoTheta.org to support today! #ThetaForever”
• Spread the word on your personal social media channels. Use this year’s hashtag (#ThetaForever) in your posts.
• Sign up to serve as a Giving Tuesday ambassador. You can track those who give to your link and be eligible for prizes based on your fundraising efforts. 
• Reshare Giving Tuesday content from Theta headquarters’ social media accounts.
• React, share, and comment on Theta headquarters’ social media accounts. Any engagement helps more of our followers see our content in their feed.

Theta Offices Closed

The Fraternity, Theta Foundation, and Fraternity Housing Corporation offices will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 23, through Friday, Nov. 25, in recognition of the (U.S.) Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Workforce Update

Kristine Wix, Beta Nu/Florida State, has been appointed to compliance committee chair for the next biennium. Her college district director (CDD) role in College District VII will be vacant.

2023 Fraternal Government Relations Coalition (FGRC) Event Applications Due Dec. 9

Kappa Alpha Theta is excited to offer two opportunities in spring 2023 for students interested in learning about and advocating for the fraternal collegiate experience and freedom of association.

• Applications are open for the First Amendment Institute, hosted by the Fraternity and Sorority Action Fund in Chicago from Feb. 17 - 19. Students from across the fraternity and sorority community will learn how to advocate for freedom of association on their campus. They will hear from fraternity and sorority industry experts, legal and advocacy experts, and campus professionals. Additionally, students will learn skills they can take home to protect their experience.
• Applications are also open for the FGRC 2023 Capitol Hill visits, taking place in Washington, from April 18 - 19. Students advocate for legislation that is important to the success of fraternity and sorority organizations across the country. This opportunity provides students with the unique opportunity to experience the nation's capital in a new way through direct interaction in the legislative process.
