The Associated Press and local news outlet Lexington Herald-Ledger provided coverage of the death of 18-year-old Thomas “Lofton” Hazelwood. Hazelwood was found unresponsive at FarmHouse Fraternity at the University of Kentucky. While the cause of death has not been determined officially, the coroner’s office stated it was “presumed alcohol toxicity.” All activities for FarmHouse Fraternity have been suspended, as well as new member activities for all fraternities on campus.
The University of Missouri has suspended all fraternity social and university-sanctioned activities after a student was found unresponsive at the university’s Phi Gamma Delta Chapter, according to The Hill, Associated Press and local outlets such as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Missouri University Police Department is investigating the incident. The condition of the student remains unknown. This suspension comes after warnings to students to be aware of drinks being drugged at on-campus parties.
The Timothy J. Piazza Center for Fraternity and Sorority Research and Reform at Pennsylvania State University announced this week that it was partnering with NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education to present a three-part webinar series for senior-level student affair professionals about leading fraternities and sororities through a return to campus amid COVID-19.

Grand Council has approved the appointments of Katie Busby, Epsilon Zeta/Mississippi, as chairman and Laura Locke, Gamma Phi/Texas Tech, as vice chairman. Fraternity Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Betsy Corridan will serve ex officio as secretary.
