We are taking the Sisters Supporting Sisters program on the road to Los Angeles on Saturday, Oct. 13. Theta is working with the To Write Love on Her Arms organization to bring their MOVE: Focus program to our members. MOVE is a program designed and facilitated by To Write Love on Her Arms to equip and educate others about topics like depression, addiction, self-injury, suicide, anxiety, eating disorders, and the role a trusted community plays in bringing hope to those who feel broken. In a one-day workshop led by professional counselors, our participants will explore what is behind these struggles, what drives them, what recovery looks like, and how we can make a difference. MOVE’s goal is to battle stigma and shame with honesty and compassion. We hope attendees will leave encouraged, inspired, informed, and equipped with a framework to have a positive impact on their communities. Special thanks to Zeta Omega/Loyola Marymount for hosting the program!
Director of Extension Lindsay Sell is pleased to share that Kappa Alpha Theta is one of three groups chosen to present to the Northeastern University Panhellenic Association. If selected, Theta would establish a new chapter in Boston in spring 2019.
Betsy Harootyan, college district director (CDD) in College District XI, will be away from her Theta desk Oct. 5-14. Contact Katharine Murphy, director of collegiate services, with any College District XI questions in her absence.
