• The technology consulting project continues.
• Phase II of the technology consulting project is wrapping up, including the member-market focus groups, environmental scan, member experience assessment, organizational systems assessment, and infrastructure review.
• On-site technology visioning exercise and content governing workshop is scheduled for May 15-16 as part of Phase III.

A3. Demonstrate to external audiences the relevance of the Kappa Alpha Theta experience. 

• Theta Magazine content/design survey concluded with a 3.6 percent participation rate among alumnae and a 75 percent participation rate among the targeted VIPs. Our partner marketing firm is now analyzing the results which will result in magazine content and design recommendations leading to a strategy document and timeline.
• Work continues on Phase 0 of website redesign as well as on Leading Women brand messaging.
• The culture of philanthropy group continues to meet. Phase I of the Philanthropy Handbook is on target to be released this summer.

Workforce Updates

At its meeting last week, Grand Council appointed Louise Bearss, Delta Theta/Florida, as alumnae district director (ADD). Louise will serve in Alumnae District VII, replacing Heather MacCuspie who recently resigned.

Katie Hanson, Gamma Nu/North Dakota State, has been appointed as budget district director (BDD) and will (re)join the budget committee and serve in College District II. Assistant Director of Finance Christine Lorkowski will assist with the transition.

35 Under 35 Award

We received 145 applications for the 35 Under 35 Award! The young alumnae board will review applications this month to select the 35 recipients who will be announced in May. Contact Assistant Director of Alumnae Engagement Lauren Lewis with any questions.

Look for a special video on Theta’s social media channels in honor of the many volunteers who give their precious time and energy to furthering our sisterhood and developing Theta’s leading women. Share your appreciation for the Theta volunteers who have made a difference in your life using #ThetaThanks.

Wear Denim on April 26 to Support Sexual Assault Awareness Month: In Rome in 1992, a young woman was told by the Italian Supreme Court that her rape must have been consensual sex because her jeans were too tight for the attacker to remove on his own. Every year, people all over the world participate in International Denim Day to send the message that there is never an excuse for rape or sexual assault. Wear denim on Wednesday, April 26, to protest the insidious marginalization of sexual assault and show your support for sexual assault survivors all over the world. Share this information with your chapter, and post a photo to social media using #DenimDay. Be sure to tag @kappa_alpha_theta in the photo!

• Thursday, April 20: Beta Lambda/William and Mary will take over Theta’s Snapchat to show the chapter’s Dunk-A-Theta philanthropy event. (Don’t worry—the event has been approved!)
• Monday, April 24: Gamma Nu/North Dakota State will hold Cheesin’ for CASA, a nacho bar that benefits CASA. The chapter will also recognize its advisors in honor of Advisor Appreciation Month.
