As noted in today’s issue of The Update, Harvard University is officially upholding its policy that will bar members of single-gender final clubs, sororities, and fraternities from obtaining leadership positions in recognized student organizations and sports teams (among other benefits). The sanctions will be in effect starting with the class of 2021.
After much consideration and discussion, the three Panhellenic groups on Harvard’s campus decided to conduct recruitment this spring and open it to freshmen. In conjunction with Alpha Phi and Delta Gamma leadership, we worked with our Zeta Xi Chapter to draft a statement (attached) clarifying the rationale. It will be released to The Harvard Crimson and The Boston Globe later today.

Well done!
Brava!
I felt Bettie in the letter. That's a good feeling.
Appreciate Theta and its NPC sisters making this move. Today, the Higher Education Reauthorization Act is in the House Education and Workforce Committee being reviewed and "marked up" to include language that should help our efforts. The PROSPER amendment has been offered.
Powerful! Lead on Zeta Xi!
There will be a social media post going up later today from Theta's account. Feel free to share the post!
Really appreciated the use of historical context to highlight the issue in a very contemporary way.
Agree whole heartily with Leah and Heather the tone of this Recruitment letter has Bettie and Leading Women all over it! Thank you Zeta Xi for LEADING the way!
Powerful letter — well done. Eyes will be upon all these brave women. I couldn’t be more proud of their courage and commitment.
There are certain moments in you're life where you're really proud to be a member of Theta: This is one of them. Outstanding letter!
